Iceland Summer 2015 Andrew and Dawn organised a fantastic tour for us.  It was totally hassle free , they organised everything for us which allowed us to totally relax and enjoy Iceland and all it had to offer.  They took us to places we would never have found on our own and they were good company too. Hello Andrew and Dawn. 
Good to hear you are back home safely. Needless to say some r & r will be the order of the day for a while, you certainly deserve it. 
Our trip certainly exceeded all expectations, I had no idea just how wild and beautiful Iceland actually is. The whole experience of not many tourists, cleanliness, well organised days, good trails and friendly people made this holiday one of the best we've had so far. 
Also the small group size made it seem more personal, just like one big family ! 
We certainly intend to come next year, the Iceland Plus and even more remote trails will be just too good to miss. Put my name on that one for a start.

6. Iceland April 2015 - Easter Fly Drive
We have just returned from a fantastic fly/drive holiday with Venture 4x4 in Iceland. Thank you to Andrew and Dawn for making our holiday so exciting. We feel we have seen the real land of fire and ice.
The scenery was amazing and people so friendly. The itinerary arranged by Andrew and Dawn was very interesting and varied. Their organisation made our  holiday  relaxed and stress free with a little adventure thrown in. We loved the glaciers/waterfalls/geysirs/ mountains and icebergs. The scenery just goes on and on and on !!.

7. Iceland has been a place we’ve wanted to visit for the past five years but had concerns of how to experience as much as possible in just two weeks. We had the good fortune of meeting Andrew and Dawn of Venture 4x4 at the Overland Show in Stratford and with their knowledge and experience we felt confident enough all would be okay, in fact it all turned out perfect, from help and advice with organising the ferry booking all the way through to receiving a surprise cd of all the photos Dawn took of our adventure, everything was efficiently well organised yet remaining flexible throughout to any needs we may have had.
The overland driving was more than we could have wished for or even imagined, I’m a novice off road driver but with Andrew’s guidance my confidence grew daily. The terrain is so varied and the landscape so amazingly breath taking at every turn. Andrew & Dawn were never short of surprises and with their knowledge we visited places that weren’t even on the map!  Even the local guides couldn’t compete  with their  knowledge and enthusiasm for Iceland .
With out a doubt we saw more, did, more, experienced more and learnt more than we ever could  have done with out them, the whole adventure exceeded our expectations, thank you again.

8. "My partner was searching on line for a break in Iceland to see the Northern lights as I kept saying i would like to see them. He found the venture 4x4 website and had a look. He liked the idea of travelling around Iceland in a 4x4 vehicle with someone who knew the areas to visit and the size of the group. He showed me the site and I too liked the idea. He got me to make a phone call to find out more information about the tour, from that first phone call to the end of our tour was nothing but professional.

There was no such thing as a silly question and all questions were answered fully whether it was asking about vehicle spec to camping gear. The booking was so easy, Andrew and Dawn booked the ferry for us with frequent communication. Confirmation included a map of Iceland and some other goodies. Nearer to the time of departure again information was relaying at a frequent pace.

We finally met Andrew in Hirtshals and Dawn in Iceland and from the first meeting they were both very friendly with a professional manner making us both feel very much at ease. Thought our trip Andrew and Dawn were very knowledgeable of Iceland. If we asked a question and they were unsure of the answer by the next stop they had the answer. It was a very full itinerary throughout the trip but if we requested to go somewhere off the itinerary Andrew and Dawn would try to accommodate our request.

We saw some amazing sites, got wet on several occasions some through our own fault. Experienced some amazing glaciers and waterfalls. One of my favourite walks was through the canyon and my favourite view was from Laki looking down the line of fissures.

Words can not express how Andrew and Dawn made our trip a memorable one and can't wait to return.

9. Thank you Dawn and Andrew for a wonderful time. For anyone reading this, I initially made a telephone enquiry about going to Iceland. After a deal of discussion Dawn and Andrew booked my flights, collected me from the airport in Iceland and showed me around. Their expert knowledge of Iceland complimented the trip which was outstanding. Some of the best bits: bathing in a hot river in the mountains, climbing a volcano, watching the sunset over a glacier… Thank you so much for your help, kindness etc.  I would highly recommend them.  (Lauren F (LLB)) [2014]

 

10. Here are our thoughts regarding our Iceland trip.
A 4x4 adventure with first rate leaders and guides in Andrew and Dawn.  They not only took us on a tour of the island but also visited many places of interest as we travelled from camp site to camp site.  Dawn was always ready with the geographical history of the area and readily answered questions via the CB.  There was plenty of non-damaging off road driving through absolutely stunning scenery.  We crossed lava plateau, were up close and personal with glaciers, forded river crossings, saw many waterfalls, stood atop volcanoes, bathed in geothermal pools and a stream and watched geysers erupting.   We were lucky enough to see five humpback whales on our whale watching trip.  The sunny days we had brought out the best in the astonishing colours of the island.  We camped in some remote areas, in the mountains and next to glaciers in some instances, stocking up with food for up to two or three days at a time.  All campsites had good facilities and were clean.  On this trip we felt we saw a lot of what Iceland has to offer and would love to go back. Venture 4x4 took us on a whirlwind tour of Iceland, we went to some amazing places and we saw some incredible sights.We took up Venture 4x4's offer of making all of our bookings for us so that all we had to do was to pay and turn up.This went very smoothly and everything was as it was supposed to be when we checked in to board the Ship to Iceland.Venture 4x4 helped us in our preparations giving us invaluable advice leading up to and during the trip.Without Venture 4x4's expert knowledge of Iceland, we would've missed many of the “off the beaten track” attractions.Andrew and Dawn's running commentary kept us informed and ensured that we didn't miss anything.Dawn's frequent picture taking supplied us with fantastic souvenir pictures of us in our Jeep crossing Iceland's wild landscapes.Our expedition to Iceland with our family was made much easier and comfortable with Venture 4x4's round the clock support.This support either came in the form of immediate off road driving advice or how best to shelter from Iceland's wild weather.Venture 4x4's expertise shone through with their local knowledge, allowing us to see Iceland at its best. I'm still sorting out the hours of video, but am getting through it, although very slowly.

Hi Dawn and Andrew, Just a few words of thanks for a brilliant holiday experience and all the help and advise you gave both before we went and during our holiday, rearranging the itinerary in order to make sure we had the best possible time, and the details of where, what and why it was gave us an insight into the structure of Iceland, you must have done considerable research to be able to impart the information to us.      The photos and video's don't portray how fantastic a place Iceland is and what it actually looks like, the only way is to experience it. The contrasts between the coast with its farms, fields and black beaches against the interiors barren larva fields, volcanos, ice fields, ash desert, fantastic waterfalls, thermal areas and not to mention the very interesting and sometimes exciting river crossings  makes for something interesting in every mile. The photos cannot portray the scale of it all, indeed when your there the scale is hard to comprehend. Again THANK YOU VERY MUCH.  Hope to see you again  Mick and Liz.  [2013]
